Woman posing as prostitute and man taken into custody in robbery

According to Spokane, Washington, police, a woman who was posing as a prostitute along with a man were arrested in an armed robbery case. The man who was robbed had arranged to meet with the 25-year-old woman who was posing as a prostitute. He arranged the meeting through, a website that a Spokane news release said was an online classifieds archive that escorts and prostitutes tended to frequent.

They agreed to meet early one morning near Hill 'n' Dale Rotary Park close to Colton Street and Jay Street. When the man showed up at approximately 2:30 in the morning, he was robbed by two armed men. The woman left with one of the armed men but was later booked into jail with the 19-year-old man who had been left behind. Both the woman and the man were charged with first-degree robbery. A criminal defense lawyer may be able to help these two fight their criminal charges.

The people allegedly involved in the robbery could be facing a variety of consequences if they are convicted of their charges. They could have to pay fines and fees, complete community service and probation and even have to serve jail or prison time. The severity of the consequences imposed on them could be increased if anyone was injured in the robbery. Additionally, if they already have criminal records, their consequences could be more severe this time.

Criminal defense lawyers might be able to help the accused fight their charges. Criminal defense lawyers might be able to help defendants get their charges reduced, or they might at least be able to secure more lenient sentencing for their client if they are convicted of their charges. One strategy that criminal defense lawyers might use is to bring into question the amount of evidence and if it is enough to convict their client of their charges.
